This pouch is one way to carry your scissors. It's designed to accommodate most common types of trauma shears in a comfortable and accessible way whilst offering the usual standard of ToughMed durablity and robustness.
The scissors are retained using a velcro strap which also features a "Durable Dot" press stud for additional security. Anyone who knows anything about press studs (which isn't really that many people) will tell you that Durable Dot press studs are the best quality you can find. The velcro is a high-cycle version designed for high usage applications. It will retain 50% of it's strength after 5000 uses which is twice as long as regular velcro.
The pouch is made from a highly resilient 1000 denier textured nylon material and there are three layers of it on each side of the pouch so it comfortably withstand the harshest use.
The belt straps are removable and fit to PALS and MOLLE compatible webbing. The two piece belt straps can be placed either side of a belt loop on your trousers to prevent the pouch sliding around. The straps are retained by velcro so they can be attached and removed without having to remove the belt. The standard velcro straps will fit a regular ~4cm wide belt - if you have a bigger or thicker belt, just drop us a message when you order and we can make longer straps for you. We can also make straps to mount the pouch vertically on request.
There is an additional webbing loop on the back of the pouch that can be used to attach small carabiners, lines and cord etc. if you want to add a retention system to your scissors.
There has never been a small scissors pouch that has such thought put into its design!
The MadeTough guarantee gives you peace of mind forever. If your ToughMed pouch ever breaks from reasonable use, we'll repair or replace it. Our definition of reasonable is "anything a reasonable person wouldn't regard as stupid". So if you douse it in petrol and set it on fire, or drag it behind your car we probably won't cover that. The ToughMed guarantee is in addition to your normal consumer rights.
